Flavoured Black Tea
Still often called “China tea” when it is dubbed “Foreigner’s tea” in China, Lapsang souchong is a smoky tea first produced on the Tong Mu mountain. Today it is a finished black tea which is then smoked, whereas it used to be smoked during the drying part of the process, and then fermented. The smoky flavour was thus subdued but still present in the leaf. A small amount is still produced in this traditional manner, and it’s organically grown too. A contemporary classic lapsang, smoky but not over the top.Ingredients
